On Your Feet

This is one of my all time favorite photographs of my family. I love how something as simple as bath time can turn into something so sweet & beautiful. The funny thing is that I just so happened to be going through photos for the bust a gut last week (didn't find one) and saw this. Then I wondered if they would do one with feet & when I went to look it just so happened to be this week. This photo to me shows the true connection between my youngest son & my husband. I absolutely love it.

Let them be little

When I heard that this week's contest included birth, this is the first image that came to my mind. Our friends knew that daddy would be deployed during the birth of their son and they asked me to capture their special day for him. Baby boy came fast! They called me & I rushed over immediately and he came almost as soon as I walked through the door. It was my first (& probably only) Labor & Delivery and even though I was so nervous I was overcome by the beauty of it all. Adding the beauty of birth mixed with the emotion of deployments it was the most memorable and meaningful sessions I have ever had.

Tickled Pink/Stray Cats

I had a very busy weekend & couldn't to do anything specific for this week's challenge. I would have loved to do something breast cancer related as it is a huge deal in my family but my little kitties will have to do. I took this yesterday at a local orchard during some mini-sessions. I love these two little kitties! I would take these stray cats home any day.

I had so many to choose from that I just started fresh this morning. I luckily awoke before me son and I just sat in his room waiting for his morning routine which I know involves a lot of hands; eye rubbing, pulling up, reaching and of course a little morning thumb suck. I chose this one above all the others because its not staged, its all him and I love how he is peaking through his crib.

A fan of Roper Photography brought to my attention that my photography "Baby for Sale" had made it's way onto Pinterest. I was so excited to see that & know that my work is getting out there! Lately I have heard about a lot of people getting addicted to Pinterest & I can see why! In a world where new ideas are few & far between this was an amazing idea. I remember seeing images on the internet that I wanted to save for future reference & now I can without taking away from my computer's storage! November 16th 2011 from noon to 1500, 20 minute sessions. The price is $75 which includes 5 photographs, a photograph card, an 8x10 & the printing rights.

During this session you & your family will be photographed wearing your favorite sports jersey. These can match or be rivals! The session price of $75 is only for 4 people, each additional person is $5 but with the extra fee you receive an extra photograph.

Welcome to the New Blog

My goal is to Blog more as a photographer. This will hopefully clear up the Facebook fan page & keep all of my lovely fans up-to-date on all the specials, events & helpful information. I would love to hear some things you would like to see. I have already made plans for posting research on what to wear for shoots & things like that.

I am also happy to announce that I am finally stepping on the other side of the camera. I have been advise that I am not only selling my photography but myself as well. So I am getting a make-over from the one & only Dana Hess who will also assist me on taking my own head shots. I am in desperate need of a new look anyway & this should be lots of fun.

This is also where I will be uploading my I heart faces posts. This blog will be everything related to my photography! I hope you enjoy.
